NYPD admits, it is perfectly legal to videotape, photograph
or tape record on duty NYPD police officers

I have just uploaded a new file to the
FILES section of the ARTIST
website.
This consists of an official response by the NYPD legal department
to a FOIL request (Freedom of Information Law) I made a few months
ago on the question:
"Is it legal to videotape, tape record or photograph on duty
police officers who confront myself or other ARTIST members while we
are vending?"
The question arose when two officers from the First Precinct tried
to grab a video camera out of my hands on West Broadway when I began
taping them harassing an artist. I refused to let them get it. They
then claimed I could be arrested for violating
a provision of the US Patriot Act which they claimed made it illegal
to tape a police officer. I recorded this entire exchange.
After word searching the Patriot Act and finding no reference to any
such "law" I filed a freedom of information request with the NYPD
Legal Department. It took them months, and in a previous response
they initially claimed there were no documents about this on record,
but they finally produced the documents I knew existed.
These confirm that the NYPD Patrol Guide, the official rules for the
NYPD, prohibits them from interfering with anyone videotaping them.
I would suggest that you download this document and keep it with
you...and keep on videotaping all confrontation with the police.
Nothing is more useful for protecting yourself from false arrest or

How to Get on the No-Fly List

On 1 March 07, I was scheduled to fly on American
Airlines to Newark, NJ, to attend an academic conference at
Princeton University, designed to focus on my latest scholarly book,
Constitutional Democracy, published by Johns Hopkins University
Press this past Thanksgiving.
When I tried to use the curb-side check in at the Sunport, I was
denied a boarding pass because I was on the Terrorist Watch list. I
was instructed to go inside and talk to a clerk. At this point, I
should note that I am not only the McCormick Professor of
Jurisprudence (emeritus) but also a retired Marine colonel. I fought
in the Korean War as a young lieutenant, was wounded, and decorated
for heroism. I remained a professional soldier for more than five
years and then accepted a commission as a reserve office, serving
for an additional 19 years.
I presented my credentials from the Marine Corps to a very polite
clerk for American Airlines. One of the two people to whom I talked
asked a question and offered a frightening comment: "Have you
been in any peace marches? We ban a lot of people from flying
because of that."
I explained that I had not so marched but had, in
September, 2006, given a lecture at Princeton, televised and put on
the Web, highly critical of George Bush for his many violations of
the Constitution. "That'll do it," the man said.
After carefully examining my credentials, the clerk asked if he
could take them to TSA officials. I agreed. He returned about ten
minutes later and said I could have a boarding pass, but added:
"I must warn you, they're going to ransack your
luggage." On my return flight, I had no problem with obtaining a
boarding pass, but my luggage was "lost." Airlines do lose a
lot of luggage and this "loss" could have been a
mere coincidence. In light of previous events, however, I'm a tad
skeptical.
I confess to having been furious that any American citizen would be
singled out for governmental harassment because he or she criticized
any elected official, Democrat or Republican. That harassment is, in
and of itself, a flagrant violation not only of the First Amendment
but also of our entire scheme of constitutional government. This
effort to punish a critic states my lecture's argument far more
eloquently and forcefully than I ever could.
Further, that an
administration headed by two men who had "had other priorities" than
to risk their own lives when their turn to fight for their country
came up, should brand as a threat to the United States a person who
did not run away but stood up and fought for his country and was
wounded in battle, goes beyond the outrageous.
Although less lethal,
it is of the same evil ilk as punishing Ambassador Joseph Wilson for
criticizing Bush's false claims by "outing" his wife, Valerie
Plaime, thereby putting at risk her life as well as the lives of
many people with whom she had had contact as an agent of the CIA.

I have a personal stake here, but so do all Americans who take their
political system seriously. Thus I hope you and your colleagues will
take some positive action to bring the Administration's conduct to
the attention of a far larger, and more influential, audience than I

You’ve Gotta THINK for
a Change!

Most of us have gone along
for years, maybe most of our lives, letting other people do our thinking
for us. For the most part, we spend our time trying to get by in the
world. We let other people run the Country, make the laws, and do
the serious thinking about how things should be. Unfortunately, the
people we expect to take care of things for us have sold us down the
river. We have to start adding up two and two for a change. Let’s
start out with some common knowledge. I know that we’ve all heard
lots of flap about Bush and his cronies doing millions of buggings and
wire taps. And of course, tons of you say so what? I’ve done
nothing wrong, I don’t have to worry. Well that’s where you’re
wrong. Yes, it’s true that you don’t matter to George Bush.
Nobody gives a rat’s ass what you say on the phone or in bed with someone.
But what about every damned politician in this country? Bush and
company have been bugging their phones, cars, beds and so forth for years,
looking for blackmail material.
Why do you suppose that
almost every Congressman and Senator gives all sorts of lip service to
getting rid of Bush, and then does nothing about it? You can bet your
best “Sunday-go-to-meeting” hat that they’re scared to death of losing
their cushy job, fat pension, healthcare, and all of the other perks that
go with it. And…..they know damned well that Bush can ruin them
politically, or perhaps criminally, for keeps. They’re scared to death of
sticking their necks out, for fear of losing everything. They don’t dare
to come out and make the moves to get rid of Bush and Company, because
they’ll go down in flames right along with him. EVERY major political
figure in this country is now being blackmailed by the Bush Bunch. That
is why they’re doing nothing. But what if they’re wrong? What if Bush
has absolutely no intention of leaving office come election time? Right
now, he has it set up so that he could declare Martial Law, put a freeze
on all elections, and declare himself ruler for the duration of an
“Emergency”
that doesn’t exist. This appears to be exactly what he’s aiming for.
Dictator Bush. Master of all. How does that sound to you? Or as Dr.
Phil would say, “How’s that working out for you?” This isn’t just
a scary thought, my friends. It is a very real possibility. Then the
question is “What can we do about it?” Bush and Company have broken every
possible law that we have, on one level or another. Treason, murder,
torture, conspiracy, blackmail, assassination, and so on. There isn’t
room here to list all that has been stolen from our Country and our
people. Our great grand children will be trying to get back what these
people have stolen.
If we attempt to act
legally, to remove this loathsome toad from our highest office, we won’t
be able to do it. Bush and Company don’t obey our laws…they break them
openly at every opportunity. Therefore, we cannot expect to use legal
method to remove this slime-ball from office. Legal methods will get us
exactly nowhere. On the other hand, if a couple of million citizens
packed up their old squirrel rifle, lit out for Washington, and had
themselves a an old fashioned hanging party, a lot of them might get
killed during the festivities. They might also manage to end a problem
that we haven’t been able to solve otherwise. It might come to this, if
push comes to shove.

Are GM Crops Killing
Honeybees?
One
of nature's unsung heroes -- the honeybee -- may be in grave decline
around the United States, a huge problem for those of us who live in North
America, and not solely because it means
a shortage of honey either. Almost 100 crops on the continent
need honeybees to transport pollen between flowers, prompting
fertilization and jump-starting the production of seed and fruit. In fact,
some economists have estimated this single species is worth $14 BILLION
to America's economy. Moreover, pollination may account for as much as a
third of the average American diet, largely the healthiest. One
entomologist believes there may not be enough bees to transport a
sufficient amount of pollen, a result of colony collapse disorder, the
short explanation that encompasses a myriad of reasons why honeybees
disappear, from a new infection to a compromised immune system.
A
German study may have identified a simple answer to the problem: The
ongoing blight of
genetically modified (GM) crops. When bees were released in a GM
rapeseed crop, then fed the pollen to younger bees, scientists discovered
the bacteria in the guts of the young ones mirrored the same genetic
traits as ones found in the GM crop.
In addition to the very plausible scenario
of GMO seeds and plant crops contributing to the killing off the primary
pollinators to our entire food chain, BEES, for at least the last 25
years, the bees have been poorly managed, in the insipid and dangerous
practice of forcing the majority of the bee populations in the USA to
feed on High Fructose Corn Syrup, or other cheap refined sugars, when
plant nectar, pollen, sap and other botanical and convertible materials
are not available (mid and late summer, all of the Fall, all of the
Winter and early Spring).
What this means (USDA PHONY certification, grading, or organic stamp or
not) is the vast majority of honey consumed in the USA is regurgitated
BEE BARF from HFCS, under 24/7 lit factory hive conditions (to trick
bees into thinking it's still Spring or early Summer).
Such forced 'honey' production practices weaken the immune systems of
the bees, and the hive populations collapse through mite infestations
(about every 4th or 5th year cyclically and it's proven in price spikes
when scarcity reduces output) as well as immunity to other diseases in
the bee colonies ceasing to exist.
Such HFCS laden 'honey' additionally harms human health, as this refined
corn fructose so-called 'honey' (deceptively mislabeled) is primary
chelated (converted) in humans to stored adipose tissue (body fat) and/or
triglycerides (leading to LDL or bad cholesterol spiking) and increases
predisposition in infants, children, woman of child bearing age,
seniors, health compromised, prescription and OTC drug users, obese,
etc. to many allergies they normally would not have. "In many
cases, scientists have found evidence of almost all known bee viruses in
the few surviving bees found in the hives after most have disappeared.
Some had five or six infections at the same time and were infested with
fungi -- a sign, experts say, that the insects' immune system may have
collapsed."
A study at the University of Jena from
2001 to 2004 showed that toxins from a genetically modified maize
variant designed to repel insects, when combined with a parasite,
resulted in a "significantly stronger decline in the number of bees"
than normal.
Is GM Corn Killing Honey Bees?
A
early as 1999 a laboratory study was published in Nature21
showing that pollen from B.t. corn caused high mortality rates in
monarch butterfly caterpillars. Monarch caterpillars consume milkweed
plants, not corn, but the fear is that if pollen from B.t. corn is blown
by the wind onto milkweed plants in neighboring fields, the caterpillars
could eat the pollen and perish. Although the Nature study was not
conducted under natural field conditions, the results seemed to support
this viewpoint. Unfortunately, B.t. toxins kill many species of insect
larvae indiscriminately; it is not possible to design a B.t. toxin that
would only kill crop-damaging pests and remain harmless to all other
insects. This study is being reexamined by the USDA, the U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and other non-government research
groups, and preliminary data from new studies suggests that the original
study may have been flawed22, 23.
This topic is the subject of acrimonious debate, and both sides of the
argument are defending their data vigorously. Currently, there is no
agreement about the results of these studies, and the potential risk of
harm to non-target organisms will need to be evaluated further.

Are Cell Phones Wiping Out Bees?

It seems like the plot of a particularly
far-fetched horror film. But some scientists suggest that our love
of the mobile phone could cause massive food shortages, as the
world's harvests fail. They are putting forward the theory that
radiation given off by mobile phones and other hi-tech gadgets is a
possible answer to one of the more bizarre mysteries ever to happen
in the natural world - the abrupt disappearance of the bees that
pollinate crops. Late last week, some bee-keepers claimed that the
phenomenon - which started in the US, then spread to continental
Europe - was beginning to hit Britain as well. The theory is that
radiation from mobile phones interferes with bees' navigation
systems, preventing the famously home loving species from finding
their way back to their hives. Improbable as it may seem, there is
now evidence to back this up.

Towers and Antennas: Electrosmog
This is a map of the United States which shows all the antennas and
towers licensed through the Federal Communications Commission and stored
in it's data base as of Summer 2001(IMAGINE WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE TODAY!).
Each dot can represent many antennas and each antenna can represent many
channels. The FCC does not track government sites. Of course, there are
many, many more towers and antennas than represented here. New
facilities and applications are coming which may not require licensure
or permitting. With the advent of 3G wireless, more antenna arrays are
being installed and new antennas will be smaller, with the eventual goal
of miniature, unregulated antenna systems and wireless applications.
When the EMR Network invited CWTI to come to Washington DC to brief
Congressional staff as part of their "Campaign on Public Health and
Local Control" during the summer of 2001, we brought this map.
This map has been widely distributed and shows more than words can
express -- that our communities are being ubiquitously studded with
these antennas and towers, many in a hidden, stealth-like manner.
Citizens call for advice and assistance but typically are unable to
address their concerns through federal or state public health agencies.
There is no one looking out for the people on this issue. With the rapid
deployment of antennas and towers and the emissions level going up 1% or
more per year in some of our big cities, like New York and San
Francisco, some areas may be reaching saturation level.
One community in particular, Lookout
Mountain in Golden Colorado, - http://www.c-a-r-e.org, has been living
with exposure conditions from broadcast towers which have repeatedly
been shown to exceed FCC safety limits, yet community members are unable
get the broadcast industry to stay in compliance or move to a less
intrusive location. The Europeans label this level of radiation exposure
from various EMR source points as "electrosmog". The general population
is now the subject of a massive experiment with no control group on
chronic exposure to antennas and towers. One day, it will be known how
many what people became ill, were forced to move, became disabled,
chronically ill or died as a result of these exposure conditions.
Individuals and communities are learning rapidly about the science,
technology and politics of this issue, collecting the local facts,
protecting themselves personally, educating their local elected
officials and planning staff, writing more protective ordinances, and
joining the collective call for public policy change. Doing a map of the
antennas and towers that are there and are coming will help identify
areas which are more at risk; where harmful exposure conditions have
been identified; where sensitive, "no antennas allowed" zones need to
be; and, whenever possible, indicate preferred sites.
CWTI believes the public has the right to know what they are being
exposed to. CWTI strongly advocates full disclosure of the exposure
conditions to known or suspected environmental toxins. Once informed
about toxic source locations and educated on potential health risks,
people can opt to personally protect themselves by avoiding the source,
reducing or eliminating exposure and working for public policy change.
"Mapping Marin" is a demonstration project that uses geographical
inventory survey (GIS) mapping techniques to study electromagnetic field
and electromagnetic radiation exposure conditions. The mapping process
begins with a GIS map of public utility sources from electrical power
and wireless communication systems and adds in radio and TV broadcast
antenna source data. We are working in collaboration with the Marin
Breast Cancer Watch, other environmental health groups and local
government agencies.

The Deadly Eternal Legacy of DUI

Canada offers forum for lecturer barred from U.S. (April 11, 2007)
A highly regarded Iraqi epidemiologist who wants to tell Americans about
an alarming rise in cancer levels among Iraqi children will come to
Canada instead because he couldn't get a visa to the United States.
Unable to travel to the University of Washington, Riyadh Lafta -- best
known for a controversial study that estimated Iraq's body count in the
U.S.-led war in Iraq at more than half a million -- will arrive at Simon
Fraser University in B.C. this month to give a lecture and meet with
research associates. "The University of Washington wanted him, but
the U.S. denied his entry," said his colleague at SFU, Tim Takaro.
Once in Canada, Dr. Lafta will present estimates that paint a damning
portrait of the war's ravages on children: that birth defects are on the
rise since the war began, and that the number of children dying from
cancers such as leukemia has risen tenfold. Dr. Lafta had tried for six
months to get a visa into Seattle to speak in Washington, and was
ignored a half-dozen times, Dr. Takaro said.

What do you know about 9-11 that you haven't told anyone?

Because I am on the Boardwalk every Sunday with my “9-11 WAS AN
INSIDE JOB” display, I have had several interesting exchanges with
people from the general public on this and other topics they
probably don't discuss routinely. I have had occasion to learn
many unusual bits of information which sounded borderline insane
at the time, but which later were verified in independent ways.
Since initiating my excursion into the arcane political arena, I
have gained sufficient experience and alternative intelligence to
appreciate the accuracy of Napoleon's statement, “History is the
lie that survives.” Consequently, I no longer discount any tale
that comes my way, no matter how apparently outrageous, until I
have had good reason to do so. In the past few weeks, I have
become privy to some intriguing commentaries that I would like to
share on this forum with the intention of getting the word out,
but also of getting feedback, particularly since the newsletter
goes over the web. These stories deal with 9-11, about which at
this point the only truth that can be clearly established is that
the official version of events is a mass of self-serving
falsehoods. So, here are the stories-for what I trust are obvious
reasons, identities, where known, are not being revealed:
A friend who travels frequently for business was at LAX at 5 am on
9-11-01, waiting to fly out to Hawaii. While he waited to board
the plane, the terminal screens suddenly went dead. Then an
announcement was made that the airport had been closed down; there
would be no flights in or out and everyone was to vacate the
premises at once. In the chaos that ensued, this friend got his
luggage, struggled to the exit and finally caught a cab. Once in
the cab, he called his sister on his cell phone to tell her of the
very odd thing that had just happened. She informed him that the
World Trade Center in New York City had just been hit. He
maintains that the terminal screens died and the airport closed
before the first plane hit the first tower.
Second LAX story - an official for United Airlines was working
that morning when all the computer screens went dead. In a very
short time, the FBI showed up and posted pictures of all the
passengers of Flight 11 – after all, they had been headed to Los
Angeles, The airport was closed down. There were two oddities
about the pictures: In cases where there are victims of a flight,
the pictures are left hanging for an extended period and they are
usually visited by surviving family members. This time, they were
taken down after a very short time. Even more intriguing, no
family members of the passengers called the local United office to
inquire or comment, nor did anyone come to see the pictures while
they were hanging. The official decided this was quite odd, so he
used the passenger list to contact families to express the
airline's regret. He found there were no contacts. By now, the
situation was sufficiently weird that he looked more into Flight
11, only to find that there was no official record of a Flight 11
on that day. The striking thing for me in these stories is that I
had come across similar information in my forays through several
discussions of the 9-11 events on the internet early on, but did
not know how trustworthy the sources were so did not consider them
reliable. The people I reference here are completely reliable,
lifting that personal reservation.
Third, and last, 9-11 story: this about the WTC. According to this
source, 9-11 was planned in the 50s and 60s, with Nixon signing
off on it in 1968. The buildings were constructed with pre-placed
explosives, with the idea of this controlled demolition in mind.
Now, before you start calling this completely crazy, I want to say
that I had read this earlier somewhere else (if anyone wants the
source, contact me and I will dig it up for you). At that time,
the official rationale was that these were the tallest buildings
in the world, something could go wrong and they would need to be
brought down so plans were being made for such an eventuality by
pre-positioning the necessary explosives. There are other arcane
facts around the construction and maintenance of the buildings of
the WTC as well that are too involved and convoluted to go into
here. The information is available for the seriously interested.

share on these stories or other aspects of 9-11, please contact me

We must be our own media, in this and every other matter affecting
us, the nation and the world, since our media has demonstrated a
devotion to propaganda and pifflery (my word for the present blah
blah blah that tries to pass as news) that precludes informed,
intelligent discussion of the very serious situation we are being
held captive in owing to deliberately maintained ignorance of
useful facts. So, let us use all the resources at our disposal and
share information that will help us unearth the truth. After all,

Are Chemtrails "Clouds of Death"?
Short and to the point,
"Clouds of Death" examines the chemtrail issue and gets to the
roots of what this operation is really about. Chemtrails are
certainly being orchestrated from a global perch seeing that it is
international in scope and the cover up or silence is uniform
across the board.
Could these chemtrails really be a part of the global
population reduction plans of the elite to administer a slow
death to the unsuspecting populations of the planet? It has been
revealed that the global elite want to reduce the worlds
population by 80% and I am convinced that chemtrails are being
utilized to do just that. I hear more and more stories of people
coming down with cancer, coming down with strange aliments and
dogs dying (including my own). When it comes down to it; the
chemtrails contain chemicals that can effect the way our minds
work, cause cancer and weaken our immune systems through the
pathogens that have been found in them. All of this leads to a
slow death for those who cannot stand the biological onslaught.
 One of the
ways to fight this attack on our immune systems is to eat a meat
free/dairy free organic diet, which will bolster the immune system.
Another thing that one could do is alkalize the body with wheat
grass which will reverse the effects of the pathogens and embolden
the immune system against this new form of genocide we are all faced
with.
 They can ignore us when it comes to this issue and continue to keep
spaying this shit into our skies and on us; but they can't control
what we put into our bodies that can combat what they are "covertly"
putting into our bodies. Eating a proper diet can reverse the
effects that chemtrails can have on our health. So start eating
right and spread the word, eventually something has got to give on
their end. Remember, the race is not for the swift, but for those
who can endure unto the "end."

More mountain patients reporting sickness
since yellow dust appeared

The unexplained yellow powder that
mysteriously appeared in mountain communities last Dec. 7 and
again in February has prompted The Alpenhorn News to further
investigation of the appearance of these aerial trails that many
believe are the cause of the increase in respiratory problems
plaguing mountain communities. Chemtrails, the visible vapor
streams left by low-altitude chemical spraying, have been under
scrutiny for more than seven years now, since the first
appearances of the heavy white streamers in the sky in early 1999.
Despite the efforts of investigators, very little information has
been released to the public. Locally, the issue surfaced in early
December when many mountain residents observed a fine, slippery
yellow powder on their cars and around the exterior of their
homes.

Are There Drugs
In Our Drinking Water?
Residues of birth control pills,
antidepressants,
painkillers, shampoos and a host of other compounds are finding
their way into the nation’s waterways, and they have public health
and environmental officials in a regulatory quandary. On the
one hand, there is no evidence the traces of the chemicals found so
far are harmful to human beings. On the other hand, it would seem
cavalier to ignore them.
The
pharmaceutical and personal care products, or P.P.C.P.’s, are being
flushed into the nation’s rivers from sewage treatment plants or
leaching into groundwater from septic systems. According to the
Environmental Protection Agency, researchers have found these
substances, called “emerging contaminants,” almost everywhere they
have looked for them.

Monsanto Buys
‘Terminator’ Seeds
The United
States Government has been financing research on a genetic
engineering technology which, when commercialized, will give its
owners the power to control the food seed of entire nations or
regions. The Government has been working quietly on this technology
since 1983. Now, the little-known company that has been working in
this genetic research with the Government’s US Department of
Agriculture-- Delta & Pine Land-- is about to become part of the
world’s largest supplier of patented genetically-modified seeds (GMO),
Monsanto Corporation of St. Louis, Missouri.
Relations between
Monsanto, Delta & Pine Land and the USDA, on closer scrutiny, show
the deep and dark side of the much-heralded genetic revolution in
agriculture. It proves deep-held suspicions that the Gene Revolution
is not about ‘solving the world hunger problem’ as its advocates
claim. It’s about handing over control of the seeds for mankind’s
basic food supply—rice, corn, soybeans, wheat, even fruit,
vegetables and cotton—to privately owned corporations. Once the
seeds and their use are patented and controlled by one or several
private agribusiness multinationals, it will be they who can decide
whether or not a particular customer—let’s say for argument, China
or Brazil or India or Japan—whether they will or won’t get the
patented seeds from Monsanto, or from one of its licensee GMO
partners like Bayer Crop Sciences, Syngenta or DuPont’s Pioneer
Hi-Bred International.

S.F. Judge Bans Monsanto GM Alfalfa
A federal judge
yesterday (3/12/07) overturned the US Department of Agriculture's
(USDA) approval of a biotech alfalfa variety, ordering a preliminary
injunction to ban the sale and planting of the seed.
The
injunction follows a ruling last month (Feb) that found USDA failed
to abide by federal environmental laws when it approved the crop,
developed by
Monsanto and Forage Genetics, without conducting a full
Environment Impact Statement. On Monday US District Court Judge
Charles Breyer of the Northern District of California vacated the
agency's 2005 approval of the Roundup Ready
alfalfa, and ordered an immediate halt to sales of the seed, on
the grounds that the genetically engineered gene could contaminate
organic and conventional alfalfa.

Uranium Dust

Proposed
explosives tests upwind from Tracy, CA will release as much as
450 pounds of radioactive depleted uranium dust into the air
every year, according to an air pollution permit application
filed Friday by Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. The
blasts will annually release other elements into the air, some
of which will also be radioactive, the application reads. (...)
The $1.7 billion a year Department of Energy lab has sought to
increase its outdoor test limits from the equivalent of 100
pounds of TNT to 350 pounds, and to increase its annual testing
amount eight-fold to 8,000 pounds "in support of homeland
security and national defense activities," according to the
permit application. Houghton and other lab representatives in
January told the Tracy City Council that the lab has currently
planned just three of the 30 blasts in the 350-pound range that
would be allowed by the permit in the coming 18 months.
